Antique Edwardian Door Or Window Mantle Curtain
Rare door or window mantle used in Edwardian interiors as a framing device. Very delicate with a mustard gold pattern over a transparent black muslin type background. I think it is all cotton. All the inner edges have wooden black beads, with none missing, and a central black tassel. The material is intact with no tears, holes or stains.
There is one sign that it has been mended in the past , shown in a photo, near the bottom right side of the curtain. I have tried to show its transparency, but the white chair in the garden bleaches the photo and makes it look like holes of which there are none. It would look lovely over a large window as light through it makes it very beautiful. Measurements are width 225cm, length 250cm width of inner gap 115 cm.
